Douglas Merskin

Doug is a Florida based mixed media artist.  With studios in Florida and California.    

He has spent most of his adult life submerged in an environment of design and creation. With a background in construction and design build, he became more and more interested in the idea of experimenting with a different art form;  an art form that would give him the opportunity to explore a diverse range of mediums and techniques to freely illustrate his creativity. His pieces combine a mix of mineral pigments, metallic powders and acrylic paints. What separates him from other artists is the utilization of heat to bend and form his substrates. This process creates a tri-dimensional flow of the pieces reflecting at most times his love and connection with the ocean.

Currently his pieces form part of private collections throughout the United States.
